NHTSA issues "distraction guidelines" offer for in-vehicle gadgets, MyFord Touch frets

Reduce complexness and process length necessary by the device;

Visual-manual internet browsing;
Visual-manual social networking browsing;
Visual-manual routing program destination entry by address;
Visual-manual 10-digit phone dialing;

NHTSA is also considering future, Stage II recommended suggestions that might deal with gadgets or techniques that are not built into the car but are brought into the car and used while generating, including replacement and mobile personal technology such as techniques, cell phone devices, automated products and protects, and other mobile marketing marketing and sales communications gadgets. A third set of recommended suggestions (Phase III) may deal with voice-activated handles to further reduce thoughts in factory-installed, replacement, and mobile gadgets.
