Band-e Amir is a sequence of six amazingly crimson lakes in the heart of the central Afghanistan. The lakes are located in the foothills of the Hindu Kush, the second maximum hill range on the globe, 80 kilometers from the historical town of Bamiyan, where the Taliban demolished the globe's maximum Buddha sculptures in 2001. Ornamented by pink large limestone coves almost in complete lack of crops, the gorgeous lakes seems totally out of place.
The wonderful lakes were designed by the co2 rich water that is attracted from the springtime melt-water in the nearby hills and came out from mistakes and breaks in the rugged surroundings. This output of water percolates gradually through the actual limestone, dissolving its key nutrient, calcium mineral carbonate. Eventually, the water placed levels of solidified nutrient (travertine), which designed public works that entice water in significantly large sinks. These public works are usually about 10m great and 3m wide. Water flows from one pond to the other near travertine balconies offering as large natural public works between the lakes.
The crimson color of the lakes is due to the quality of the air as well as the cleanliness of the water. The great nutrient content of the lakes also causes the extreme and different colours of the river ocean.
Of the six lakes, Band-e Panir is the tiniest, with a size of roughly 100m (330ft). The biggest is Band-e Zulfiqar, which actions some 6.5km (4mi) in length. The most available of the lakes is Band-e-Haibat, basically converted as Dam of Awe.
Band-e-Amir had been a location for tourists since the 50's. The lakes became a nationwide recreation area only last year, although their beauty was acknowledged much earlier, in 196o. But due to the uncertainty of the govt in those days, it wasn't acknowledged as a nationwide recreation area. Protecting roughly 230 rectangle kilometers, Band-e Amir is Afghanistan’s first and only nationwide recreation area and it also features on UNESCO Community history list.
